Dr. Shirin Peters is the founder and Medical Director of Bethany Medical Clinic of New York — a practice she built from the ground up out of a deep commitment to making exceptional healthcare accessible to all New Yorkers. After completing her medical education at New York Medical College and her residency at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Manhattan, Dr. Peters gained valuable experience at a private practice in North Carolina before returning to the city she loves.
Back in New York, she recognized a critical gap — busy New Yorkers needed a model of care that was thorough, affordable, and truly built around their lives. In 2011, she founded Bethany Medical Clinic with that vision at its core. What started as a solo practice has grown into a team of 13 exceptional providers across multiple Manhattan locations, all united by the same standard of compassionate, patient-first care.
Dr. Peters leads with both clinical excellence and genuine warmth. She is passionate about preventative medicine, innovative diagnostics, and ensuring that every patient — regardless of their background or budget — has access to the care they deserve. As Medical Director, she continues to raise the bar for what primary care in New York City can look like.
